Okay, so you may be confused by the title of this blog post. Don’t worry, I will explain.

It seems that Dodge has started to implement a few enhancements if you will, on the new 2009 Dodge Challenger that are similar to the Nissan GT-R’s plethora of digital car behavior-read-outs. Dodge did not have the developers of Gran Turismo 5 involved in the development of the boy-toys that are now available for the 2009 Dodge Challenger.

Many car enthusiasts know about the new Nissan GT-R and what the center console LCD screen displays. Dodge has gone and used this idea and put it on the lower portion of the Challengers gauges. Whoa, looks rather cheesy if you ask me. You be the judge… we have included a video clip from youtube where Dodge is starting to promote the new features on the 2009 Dodge Challenger which Dodge calls it the “stat-keeping Performance Pages Display”.

The buzz began last summer: Nissan would be producing a new GT-R supercar, the fifth generation of the performance legend, for the 2009 model year.

As summer faded into fall, more details were made public. The 2009 GT-R would have, under its hood, a newly designed 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 engine that would provide 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque (give or take) and feature an equally fresh GR6-type dual clutch rear transaxle with paddle-shifters.

2008 Saab 9-3 Convertible Yellow Edition

DETROIT — While all Saab Convertibles are popular among car aficionados, owning one in yellow is an extra sunny experience. The first-ever yellow version of the Saab Convertible, issued in 1991, now enjoys collector car status, just as well-kept copies of the 1997 version are starting to get equally sought after. Yet for those preferring the attractions of an all-new open Saab, the third time may be the charm. This spring, yellow is back in a limited edition that is unprecedented in the current generation Saab Convertible – without a doubt, a future classic.

The Saab Convertible Yellow Edition is based on the 2.0T version, its turbocharged four-cylinder combining spirited performance with excellent fuel economy. In addition to its Lynx Yellow paint and a long list of standard equipment, including XM radio and OnStar, this special edition features Aero look items such as 17-inch, five spoke alloy wheels and a subtle, yet effective rear spoiler while the premium audio system will be music to all ears. The 2008 Saab Convertible Yellow Edition has a MSRP of $ 42,830, including destination charges.

Hybrid vehicle Pros and Cons

Pros:

1. Gas is expensive and you will need less of it. It is always a plus when you do not have to empty out your wallet while stopping by your nearest yellow, green, or bright red pit stop. This is the main reason why the new Hybrid cars, trucks, and SUV’s get a second look despite the high initial sticker price.

2. Hybrids generally have better fuel economy. We all know for a fact that new hybrid vehicles will use a lot less gas than your current $80 to-fill-me-up family hauler or the ever so hungry daily commuter rice-n-gas burner or if you’re lucky the “only I can drive it” sports car in the garage that is only driven on the weekends. Hybrids use and take advantage of advance technology to only consume a small percentage of gasoline when compared to any normal fuel burning vehicle currently on the road.

Gas Prices Funnies – Not So Funny Or Very Funny?

Here are a few gas funnies in an attempt to lighten up the burden of the extremely high gas prices that we all face today and in the near future.

Sorry if any of the funnies are offensive to those who just cannot afford to fill their tank. Don’t worry, I had to pick up my friend from the side of the road on I-95 Monday because he ran slap out of gas.

Tips to improve your gas mileage

Hybrid

Drive Sensibly

Aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) wastes gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at highway speeds and by 5 percent around town. Sensible driving is also safer for you and others, so you may save more than gas money.

  Fuel Economy Benefit: 5-33%
  Equivalent Gasoline Savings: $0.11-$0.73/gallon

Observe the Speed Limit

Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. Each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $0.15 per gallon for gas. Observing the speed limit is also safer.

  Fuel Economy Benefit: 7-23%
  Equivalent Gasoline Savings: $0.15-$0.51/gallon

Gas Prices: How high is the “Breaking Point”?

High Gas Prices

So how high will gas prices have to go before it is a breaking point for Americans in the USA? Many have already found a breaking point and have to resort to a different lifestyle. Many Americans are really worried and concerned about the steadily rising gas prices in the way that they are starting stay at home and not drive as much.

As our economy slows and the near future outlooks looks grim we all have been affected in some way with the record high gas prices. It is starting to trickle down to other items such as in the local grocery store. Stores are forced to raise prices due to the higher priced fuel for the trucks that transport the store items. Then you have other items for retail stores where the items are trucked over the US interstates and highways where the gas is at a national average of $3.50 a gallon. We are pretty sure that we will see $4.00 sometime this early summer… it is only inevitable with the track that we are on.

So what is your breaking point? Has it already occurred? I know one of the staff members at Automotive Addicts sold his SUV for a Toyota Camry Hybrid last week. Many people are making moves to change up their lifestyle and staring to think “green”. When some people think of “green” it does not necessarily mean hybrids or hydrogen powered cars, it means the new lack of money in their pockets due to the high gas prices.

How will you afford to get to work? How will you afford to take your family on the summer vacation this year? How will you afford to make a trip to see your sick family member in the neighboring city or town? Unfortunately we do not have an answer for you. Hopefully the stimulus package check will help out some middle-class Americans where they can maybe purchase a few tanks of gas. Otherwise, we will have to take out a loan in order to “fill up”.

Let us hear from you… Post your comments now and we will respond!

Quantum of Solace aston martin

James Bond’s $260,000 Aston Martin DBS crashes into Lake Garda in Italy on it’s way to the set of the upcoming James Bond 007 film, “Quantum of Solace”. CNN.com reported the incident just recently stating that the driver of the Aston Martin was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The accident was more than likely caused by the heavy rain storm during the time of driving the vehicle to the set of the film.
Look for the newest James Bond 007 movie “Quantum of Solace” to be released later this year.
Video of the Aston Martin DBS crash from the previous (last) 007 Movie, “Casino Royal”… This one was Hollywood – the one recently reported was REAL!
