2009 Audi A4 Avant at 2008 Geneva Motor Show
This is a looker! The new 2009 A4 Avant has the looks for a “wagon” type vehicle. Audi accents the new A4 line with Audi R8 accents (headlights) and other little cues that can be found throughout the interior. Looks like they took the current Audi A3 (US edition) and enlarged it instead of taking the later A4 Avant and redesigning it. We like what we see here.
Engine: Newly designed turbocharged four-cylinder with six-speed automatic transmission.
On Sale in US: Fall of 2008
Competes with: BMW 3 Series, Saab 9-3 SportCombi

The all-new 2008 Audi TT 3.2 roadster is better by design with a longer, wider and lower stance giving the TT a more aggressive look. The TT open-top sports car retains the distinctive lines of its tremendously successful predecessor, but instills them with more emotion, performance and dynamism. The all-new TT roadster is more comfortable, fun and easy to drive than ever.
Audi offers a choice of two engines to power you on your way. The 3.2 liter V6 powerplant generates 250hp and 236lb.ft. of torque at just 3,000rpm and is coupled to a Quattro drive
system, standard. The 2.0 liter inline 4-cylinder engine blends turbo-charging with gasoline direct injection technology and makes 200hp and 207lb.ft. of torque to the front wheels. The V6 engine comes standard with a smooth shifting 6-speed manual but you can option for the innovative S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox that is super-quick changing gears using the stick shifter or steering wheel mounted buttons. The 2.0T models come only with S-tronic.
Does size really matter? More new small cars headed our way.

With the upcoming introduction of the BMW 1-series, Audi A1 and S1 line, newly redesigned Mini Coopers, is the small car segment really growing that fast? Small cars have always been frowned upon the soccer moms and big suburbia SUV dwellers. Well now the enthusiasts that seek out a small car with a big engine will have some more sheet metal to stand on. Lately there has been a spark in the market for smaller vehicles and in essence mostly to satisfy the economical limits on our vast consumption amounts of gasoline in the USA. Well, with some of the new smaller cars we have a combination of things happening. They are more economical and easier on the gas pump while at the same time they pack a serious punch for the “go fast” automotive enthusiast. Let’s take the new BMW 135i that will hit US shores next year. We are talking about 300hp in one of the smallest cars BMW has had with a BMW emblem on it since the BMW 2002 that is not a roadster type vehicle. It does not stop there… Audi has a supped up version of its A1 appropriately dubbed the S1 that will both compete with the likings of BMW’s smaller 1-series.
If there is ever a new “Italian Job” move they might not be using Mini’s this go around with the plethora of new smaller pocket rockets on its way to the US. We will post additional updates as they become available on all new smaller vehicles.
