Think a GMC Yukon Hybrid sounds silly? It can save more gas than a Civic Hybrid.
By Peter Valdes-Dapena, CNNMoney.com staff writer
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Outrage. Disbelief. Downright disgust. Those were readers’ reactions to our recent story about 13 great fuel efficient cars, which featured several trucks and SUVs.
Many of the emails went something like this: “Did you sell your soul to Detroit? Since when is 16/24 ‘great’ fuel-efficiency?”
Actually, 16 miles per gallon in city driving and 24 on the highway is really good for a large SUV. That’s what the GMC Acadia gets.
Compare that to another big General Motors SUV, the GMC Yukon, which has similar interior space. The Yukon gets 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway.

Every once in a while, an event sweeps over the blogosphere that lessens the competitive nature and proves that the Internet truly is a community. For the automotive blogging community, that event is a celebration of a site’s new design.
From May 23 through June 15, Autoblog.com is teaming up with Dodge to give readers an added reason to check out its new look. Autoblog is giving its readers 23 chances to win a fully loaded, 2007 Dodge Nitro R/T. Readers can enter to win Dodge’s midsize SUV once a day until the contest ends.
The Nitro is Dodge’s latest SUV and features the aggressive styling that Dodge is known for. The R/T model comes with 20-inch wheels, a 260-horsepower, 4.0-liter V6 and Dodge’s MyGIG™ Multimedia Infotainment System. The MyGIG™ system features 3D GPS navigation system, a 20 gigabyte hard disk drive, USB and AUX input jacks and supports JPEG/MP3/WMA formats. While the Nitro’s fuel economy of 17 in the city and 21 on the highway is not breathtaking by any means, for a 4,000 pound midsize SUV it provides some relief for the pain at the pump.

From new car releases and spy shots to consumer information and exclusive road tests and more, Autoblog covers a wide variety of topics to provide its readers a comprehensive and informative site.

LOOK! It’s a bird, a plane, a Kia, a Hyundia, No, it’s the new 2008 Saturn Vue

I thought I would share the newest 2008 Saturn Vue Images with everyone. If you have not seen the vehicle online or in any other automotive publication, then here it is.
Some asked me if this was a new Kia or Hyundia SUV and I just simply shook my head at them and politely explained it was a new GM design with some of the shared underpinnings of other GM platforms. Saturn’s are starting to evolve somewhat. Saturn’s big push a few years ago was the simple slogan “A different kind of car company” well Sir Saturn the 3rd, I have to beg to differ on this one Sir! Lately they really resemble GM’s other cash cow’s of the industry not to mention the new Saturn Aura and Saturn Outlook… resembling there 1st cousin’s Pontiac G6 and GMC Acadia respectfully. While I am not knocking what GM is doing, they have really uped the aenty a little here the pass couple years, although still too late to compete directly among the new Giants, (cough cough Toyota).
So the new Saturn Vue has to grow on me and I will have to etch in my brain that it is not a Korean SUV. Maybe we will all have to see it in person before I talk about it again. Until then, Enjoy the photos.
