<p>Ford adds a new sporty looking package for the new, 2009 Ford Fusion by offering more standard features and the new Blue Suede Appearance Package available on front-wheel-drive SE and SEL models.</p>
<p><span id="more-1894"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselpanleft01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselpanleft01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselpanleft01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselpanleft01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The package consists of exterior metallic paint color choice of dark ink blue, brilliant silver, sport blue and tuxedo black. The interior is charcoal black trim with Alcantara suede seat inserts in blue, charcoal black leather trimmed side bolsters with blue stitching, Alcantara blue suede-colored door panel trim inserts, blue stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and on the center floor console armrest. The instrument panel, center stack and door panel appliqués in black, ambient lighting is added to the SE models, and larger 18X8in. painted aluminum wheels wrapped with Goodyear 225/45R18in. performance tires.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselheadonactionwide01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselheadonactionwide01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselheadonactionwide01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselheadonactionwide01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>In the hotly contested mid-size car market, the Ford Fusion stands out now even more with its distinctive design, award-winning quality, an impressive list of safety features, state-of-the-art technologies and segment-leading value.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselfrontseats01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>For 2009, ambient lighting, Sirius Satellite Radio, a 5-speed automatic and traction control for the SEL’s 4-cylinder engine, joining Fusion’s long list of standard features.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionseldashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionseldashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionseldashboard01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionseldashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Also standard on SEL models is ambient lighting which allows drivers to personalize their Fusion’s interior with one of seven colors-blue, red, violet, orange, indigo, green and yellow. These accent colors can be changed at any time and found inside the cupholders, and in the front and rear foot wells. Sirius Satellite Radio is also standard on SEL models.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselcluster01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>For enhanced handling and performance, Fusion now offers optional AdvanceTrac electronic stability control AdvanceTrac uses sensors to detect and measure oversteer and understeer by monitoring the vehicle’s steering wheel angle versus actual yaw. When the system senses wheel side slip-the difference between the driver’s intended and actual path-engine torque is reduced and braking is applied at individual wheels to help keep the car tracking safely on its intended path.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselengine01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselengine01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselengine01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselengine01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Fusion offers a choice of Ford’s 2.3 liter Duratec 23 inline 4-cylinder or 3.0 liter Duratec 30 V6 engine. Both feature aluminum construction, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, intake variable cam timing and electronic throttle control that delivers smooth, spirited driving performance along with good fuel economy and emissions ratings.</p>
<p>The 4-cylinder engine develops 160hp and can be paired with a 5-speed manual or five-speed automatic on the SEL model. For added performance, you can step up to the 221hp, 3.0 liter V6, which is mated to an advanced six-speed automatic. Fusion was the first car in its class to offer such a sophisticated automatic.</p>
<p>The fully independent front and rear suspensions systems give Fusion smooth, confident handling in both front-and all-wheel-drive configurations. Standard ABS provides even more control during severe braking maneuvers on dry or slick pavement.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselbeautyrear01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselbeautyrear01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselbeautyrear01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselbeautyrear01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The available all-wheel-drive transmission, a feature Fusion first introduced to the mid-size segment-contributes to more responsive handling for improved confidence in all types of driving and road conditions.</p>
<p>In addition to traction control and ABS, standard safety equipment includes six airbags, safety belt pretensioners, seat weight-sensing system for the front passenger seat, beltminder which reminds when a safety belt is not buckled, LATCH anchors for child seats, and a tire pressure monitoring system.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionseldoortrim01small.jpg" title="2009fordfusionseldoortrim01small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionseldoortrim01small.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionseldoortrim01small.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Options not mentioned above includes Ford SYNC voice-activated hands-free communications and entertainment system, Voice-activated navigation system, MP3 audio input jack and rear parking assist that emits a tone that increases in frequency and intensity when it detects close proximity to an object at the rear of the car.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselrearseats01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselrearseats01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselrearseats01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselrearseats01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Ford has listened to the call for more standard and optional features to make the ride more enjoyable and safe, along with a great looks and performance in Ford’s best-selling, mid-size family sedan.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" title="2009fordfusionselbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1894]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2009fordfusionselbadge01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordfusionselbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Both I-4 and V6 models get great gas mileage-20mpg/city and 29mpg/highway for the 2.3 liter and 18mpg/city and 26mpg/highway for the V6 models. The base price for the SEL model that I tested starts at $23,340.00.</p>

<p>Ford celebrates Mustang’s 45th Anniversary in 2009 by designing a new silver 45th anniversary commemorative badge placing it on each front fender, just before the door&#8230; America’s favorite tanning machine, the fun-to-drive Ford Mustang convertible has led the segment in sales for the past several years.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionpin01small.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionpin01small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionpin01small.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionpin01small.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>Ford has stayed true to the muscle car heritage with the GT model by continuing to give consumers the biggest bang for their buck in a sporty two-door package. That pony car package is a long, aggressive hood with a short deck, short front/rear overhangs, and packing a powerful V8 engine.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblebheadonactionupcloseer01small.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblebheadonactionupcloseer01small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblebheadonactionupcloseer01small.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblebheadonactionupcloseer01small.jpg" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-1844"></span></p>
<p>The 2009 Mustang reveals a menacing ‘shark-like nose’ front fascia with Bi-Xenon headlamps, big, round fog lamps integrated into the front grille, a galloping silver Pony placed in the middle of the grille, and an aluminum power-dome hood that leads to a sweptback windshield. From the side are flared fenders, C-scoops, deep side extensions, and aerodynamic side mirrors. The flared fenders are stuffed with mag-style, 5-spoke, 18X8in. polished aluminum wheels. These stunning wheels are wrapped with sticky, low profile, BF Goodrich 235/50ZR18in. g-Force T/A high-performance tires.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblerearactionhouse01small.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblerearactionhouse01small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblerearactionhouse01small.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblerearactionhouse01small.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>The rear shows 3-element vertical tail lamp clusters, a round, centered GT badge,<br />
and a bold bumper with dual stainless steel exhaust tips nicely spaced underneath.<br />
The styling is pure muscle car, retro and modern, using the latest in automotive engineering with high-tech automotive convenience features.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionrightdown02small.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionrightdown02small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionrightdown02small.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleheadonactionrightdown02small.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>My GT convertible was painted brilliant silver with a light graphite leather interior.<br />
A real ‘silver bullet’.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleengineside01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleengineside01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleengineside01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleengineside01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>The 2009 Mustang GT is powered by a 4.6 liter, SOHC, 3-valves per cylinder,<br />
all-aluminum V8 engine with variable camshaft timing. This high-output V8 engine produces a robust 300hp at 5,750rpm, and 320lb.ft. of torque at 4,500rpm. It is mated to a standard, smooth-shifting, Tremec 3650 5-speed manual, or to a 5-speed automatic transmission. My test vehicle came equipped with the manual and the optional 3.55 ratio limited slip rear end. Ford says that this model should hit 60mph from a standstill in just 5.5sec. The lighter GT coupe does it in just 5.3sec.</p>
<p>I believe their specs as this car didn’t disappoint by pushing me deep into the bucket seats when I mashed the throttle, and heard the loud, sweet deep throaty sounds coming from<br />
the tuned dual exhaust system.</p>
<p>Keeping the Mustang GT pinned to the ground is the unique suspension system that was lacking in the original muscle cars from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. The independent sport-tuned front features reverse-L links, MacPherson struts, and a 34mm tubular stabilizer bar. The rear setup includes a 3-link solid rear axle with sport-tuned coil springs and gas-charged mono-shocks, strengthened with a Panhard rod. The 20mm solid stabilizer bar keeps body lean to a bare minimum.</p>
<p>While not as high-strung as the GT coupe’s sport-tune, because of the extra weight resulting from the convertible top, motor, underside crossmembers and braces, the ride is a little softer and subdued when encountering poorly paved, bumpy roads. With poorly paved roads comes cowl shake and the Mustang is one of the poorest for a convertible. Ford needs to fit a front strut tower brace to all of its Mustang convertibles to stiffen and tie the front end together when traveling over bumpy roads.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblerearactionhouse01small.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblerearactionhouse01small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"></a> <a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblepanleft01small.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblepanleft01small.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblepanleft01small.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblepanleft01small.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>Nonetheless, the power-assisted rack &amp; pinion steering always felt right and well connected, whether driving at slow city speeds or at triple-digit speeds. Quick directional changes was easy with the front setup as turn in is lightning fast and precise.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblestickshifter01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblestickshifter01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblestickshifter01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblestickshifter01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>Strong power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes quickly slow the Mustang GT convertible down from speed. Up front are 12.4in. vented discs, clamped with twin-piston, 43mm floating aluminum calipers, and 11.8in. vented discs, clamped with single-piston, 43mm floating iron calipers, in the rear. Standard 4-sensor, 4-channel ABS keeps you in control and not skidding, when braking hard on slick or wet pavement. Standard traction control enhances your directional control during severe maneuvers.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertibledashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibledashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibledashboard01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertibledashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>The inside follows the exterior theme with touches from yesterday and today. The flat black, eye-lash dashboard shelf sets the tone. Below is a dashboard made from a solid piece of aluminum with a charcoal finish. The big, round, retro-styled, chrome-ringed speedometer and tachometer are followed to the right by chrome-ringed air vents.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblecluster01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblecluster01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblecluster01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblecluster01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>The center stack has large and easy-to-use buttons, switches and dials to make driving even more fun and easy. The sport bucket seats are very comfortable and supportive when traveling short and long distances, or when the time is right and you want to add some excitement to your day by driving the Mustang GT to its performance edge, increasing your heartbeat.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblefrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblefrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertiblefrontseats01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertiblefrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>

Standard safety features include driver/passenger front airbags, side airbags, illuminated entry, personal safety system, LATCH child safety seat system, 3-point safety belts with pretensioners/load limiters up front and a tire pressure monitoring system.</p>
<p>America’s first and favorite pony car is still the best value, and fun-to-drive, two-door sport coupe on the market.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleanniversarybadgetwo01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleanniversarybadgetwo01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1844]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordmustanggtconvertibleanniversarybadgetwo01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtconvertibleanniversarybadgetwo01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>With a starting price of just $36,290.00 for the GT convertible, there is no other convertible out there that can match the car in styling, performance, comfort, convenience, and safety.</p>

<p><strong>2009 FORD ESCAPE LIMITED AWD V6 Test Drive &#8211; ‘ESCAPE TO BETTER MPG’</strong></p>
<p>While sales of full-size, low mpg sport utilities have been taking a dive, sales of smaller, compact sport utility vehicles has risen and seems to be the vehicle of choice for a growing number of active singles, couples and families. The new 2009 Ford Escape is leading the way in all categories and continues to be the sales leader.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapebeautyrightdown01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebeautyrightdown01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebeautyrightdown01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapebeautyrightdown01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>A new powertrain lineup, with a more powerful and fuel-efficient 2.5 liter I-4 engine and a new six-speed automatic transmission, leads the list of enhancements for the 2009 Ford Escape. Besides the new fuel-efficiency combination, refined aerodynamics and new low-rolling-resistance tires also enhance fuel economy while contributing to a quieter, more refined cabin environment. In 2009 the Escape also introduces an ‘Easy Fuel’ capless refueling system that keeps any dangerous emissions from leaving the fuel tank, new multi-color ambient lighting and standard cruise-control.</p>
<p>With the new I-4 engine and the front-wheel-drive six-speed, you can expect EPA specs of 20mpg/city and 28mpg/highway. Depending on how carefully you drive the Escape, you can reach figures even higher.</p>
<p><span id="more-1780"></span></p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapeengine01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapeengine01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapeengine01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapeengine01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>A re-worked 3.0 liter V6 engine has 20% more horsepower and a 1mpg fuel economy improvement. This more powerful optional engine with front-wheel-drive gives back a very good 20mpg/city and 28mpg/highway, the AWD setup a little less at 17/24mpg.<br />
The new 2.5 liter hybrid Escape has the segments best mpg specs of 34/31mpg with front-wheel-drive and 29/27mpg with AWD.</p>
<p>Standard on all Escape models are ABS and Ford’s exclusive AdvanceTrac with RSC (roll stability control). It is the only electronic stability control system with two gyroscopic effect sensors, and it measures vehicle motion about both the yaw and roll axes. The system automatically engages counter measures to help you maintain maximum control and reduce the risk of rollover.</p>
<p>Ford is offering customers more power with better fuel efficiency, a quieter, more comfort with new enhanced handling capability.</p>
<p>The new 2.5 liter I-4 makes 171hp and 171lb.ft. of toque and is more refined than the 2.3 liter engine it replaced. It features intake variable cam timing, dual-mode crankshaft damping, electronic throttle control and PowerPC engine electronic control. Key new elements include intake and exhaust manifolds, camshafts, pistons and bore size. The i-VCT technology optimizes the valve timing for performance and efficiency, creating a broad torque curve and delivering increased power and improved fuel efficiency at the same time. The Escape Hybrid also will feature a version of the new engine that uses the fuel-efficient Atkinson Cycle for combustion.</p>
<p>The new six-speed has a taller top gear that reduces engine speed while cruising and shifting at lower engine speed in each gear help make the new six-speed 4 to 6% more fuel efficient than the four-speed it replaces.</p>
<p>The new six-speed is calibrated for cruising fuel efficiency with sacrificing launch feel and performance feel in lower gears. A wider range of gear ratios are keys to the six-speed transmission’s ability to deliver this combination of performance and fuel economy.</p>
<p>The new Escape’s optional new 3.0 liter V6 engine features a new 10.3:1 compression ratio to gain 40hp more compared to the 3.0 liter it replaced. The 240hp V6 is equipped with i-VCT and electronic throttle control along with new cylinder heads, intake and exhaust cams, injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds, and pistons. It comes standard with the new six-speed automatic.</p>
<p>As mentioned above, other fuel efficiency improvements include the new 16X7in. light alloy wheels, new 16in. Michelin Latitude Tour design that features a unique mold design, reduced weight and a new generation tread pattern optimized for reduced fuel consumption. Aerodynamic refinements include a redesigned front bumper spoiler and new rear tire spoilers. Also, Electric Power Assist Steering is standard. It replaces the traditional hydraulic power steering pump, and because it operates only when required for steering assistance, it contributes to lower fuel consumption than the hydraulic pump, which operated constantly during engine operation.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapebadge01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebadge01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebadge01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapebadge01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The new Escape features a series of chassis system upgrades to the fully independent suspension that improves dynamic capability, steering response and ride comfort. The revised and retuned suspension includes a new rear stabilizer bar and revised shock absorber tuning that help deliver a balance of enhanced ride comfort and handling confidence. The steering system has been retuned for better control, feel for the road and tighter cornering capabilities. The new Escape is fun and easy to drive. With the optional Intelligent AWD system, you feel confident while driving on slick or wet pavement.</p>
<p>The electronic center differential can transfer torque to any wheel and any side to keep you on track and out of trouble.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapebeautyreardown01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebeautyreardown01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebeautyreardown01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapebeautyreardown01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The braking system also incorporates new improvements. With 11.9in vented rotors up front and 10in. drum in the rear, the engineering team focused on enhancing initial braking system responsiveness and making further fine-tuning calibrations for the ABS, resulting in better brake feel and shorter stopping distance. The feel is much more linear and confidence building.</p>
<p>The interior is roomy, comfortable and loaded with high-tech options that no other competitor can offer.</p>
<p>New, comfort-designed seats feature soy-based foam that substitutes for petroleum-based products to conserve limited resources and reduce CO2 emissions. The new dark ebony trim on the center stack, console and front doors, along with chrome accents, give the Escape a touch of elegance. The instrument cluster is easy to see with big 120mph speedometer, 8,000rpm tachometer and smaller gauges for fuel and engine coolant temperature. The standard center readout lets you program the Escape for your individual needs and shows important information about the performance of the vehicle.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapedashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapedashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapedashboard01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapedashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>All buttons, dials and switches are within easy reach and all are fully illuminated for safe nighttime driving. Visibility in front, side and rear is excellent. The rear 60/40-split bench seat is comfortable for three children or two adults. Cargo space behind is 29.2cu.ft. and 66.3cu.ft. when the second row is folded flat. The front seat also folds flat to easily load longer items.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapecluster01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapecluster01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapecluster01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapecluster01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>

You have a choice of three engines mated to one advanced six-speed transmission, and hybrid technology to further stretch your fuel mileage.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordescapebeautyside01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebeautyside01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1780]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordescapebeautyside01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordescapebeautyside01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>It is also rated Five Stars in Side Crashes, Four Stars in Frontal Crashes and Three Stars for Rollover Protection. Prices range $20,140.00 for the base XLS, up to $23,060.00 for a loaded V6 AWD Limited that I tested. No wonder the Ford Escape has been the segment leader in sales since its introduction several years ago. A Best Buy!</p>

<p>  </p>
<p><strong>ALL NEW 2009 FORD FLEX LIMITED AWD &#8211; ‘FLEXIBILITY IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS’</strong></p>
<p>The all-new 2009 Ford Flex is a vehicle that dares to be different. Its contemporary design provokes strong opinions, mostly positive, from the people I met during my seven-day test drive. The Ford Flex is like no other vehicle on the road, and that may mean it is not for everyone. Ford new this going in but the Flex combines the best of every four-door vehicle for styling, interior comfort, spaciousness and high-tech conveniences.</p>
<p>All of the seatbacks, except the driver’s, fold flat to open up the interior for all cargo loading situations, and to easily seat up to seven passengers. With a powerful V6 engine mated to a smooth shifting 6-speed automatic transmission and a fully independent suspension, the Flex drives and rides like an entry-level luxury sedan.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdheadonactiontophouse01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdheadonactiontophouse01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdheadonactiontophouse01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdheadonactiontophouse01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>From its planted stance and broad shoulders-flanked by signature side grooves-to its<br />
All- black greenhouse, and distinctive multi-panel Vista Roof, Ford designers have crated a provocative vehicle. In a world of automobiles that are easily categorized, Flex is difficult to define, and in some instances, polarizing. Flex’s prominent stance is a key design element setting it apart from all other vehicles. Just park the Flex next to a SUV or Crossover. The proportions are immediately surprising.</p>
<p><span id="more-1759"></span></p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdpanleft01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdpanleft01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdpanleft01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdpanleft01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Capping the horizontal design cues in bold contrast is the unique, flat roof of the new Flex. Available in just two colors-White Suede or Brilliant Silver, the roof contrasts stylishly with the Flex exterior paint palette.</p>
<p>“The all-black greenhouse allowed us to do the complementing color roof,” said Flex designer Rich Gressens. “If we had body colored pillars and clear glass, it would have been difficult to do, but it all ties in together.”</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrightwideoverheadangle01fixsmall_edited-1.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrightwideoverheadangle01fixsmall_edited-1.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrightwideoverheadangle01fixsmall_edited-1.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrightwideoverheadangle01fixsmall_edited-1.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The Flex’s multi-panel Vista Roof adds even more distinction and is available only on the Flex SEL and Limited models as an option. The Vista Roof features four glass panels to provide abundant natural light to occupants of all three rows. The forward panel is a power moonroof that opens to let in fresh air. All four glass panels have easy-to-use shades when you want no extra light inside.</p>
<p>The exterior design of the Flex creates strong interest, but it’s the clean, new interior with surprising space and comfort that will really wet the interest of consumers. The interior is an environment that is radically different than other people/cargo haulers. You will notice the improvement in the quality of materials used throughout, the unique chrome accents, and the general appearance inside. Even the way you interact with the Flex is different because of all the new technology packed inside. Even before you enter the Flex is the newly designed keypad entry that remains invisible until you touch one of the numbers that when pushed turn on all numbers lit with red LEDs.</p>
<p>The front seats are wider and more comfortable than ever, the T-shaped dashboard features a higher quality, soft-to-the-touch material, the faux wood trim works beautifully, the instrument cluster is easy to see and understand, all buttons, dials and switches are reached easily and fully illuminated for safe nighttime driving. The new steering wheel feels great in your hands but only features tilt and I would have felt more comfortable behind the wheel if it also featured a telescoping column.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawddashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawddashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawddashboard01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawddashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontdoortrim01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontdoortrim01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontdoortrim01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontdoortrim01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>Up front there is plenty of storage in each door, deep glove box, center console cubby bin, dual cupholders and deep center storage bin with armrest. The rear side doors have a storage pocket and bottle holder, and there is a grab handle above each passenger door for easy entry and exit.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontseats01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Flex is loaded with innovative, class-leading technology solutions that seek to empower, not overpower, the driver. These features include Ford SYNC, a Ford exclusive, voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system offering even more functionality for the 2009 model year with 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Reports;<br />
SIRIUS Travel Link that when combined with voice-activated navigation will provide uses with a suite of data services including real-time traffic, coast-to-coast weather conditions and fuel price information for over 120,000 gas stations; voice-activated navigation integrates several functions, including destination entry, climate control and SIRIUS satellite radio into one easy-to-use system with information displayed on the 8in. color touch-screen display; a new Sony audio system that features 700 watts of power, 5.1 surround sound and 10-speakers is certified by Sony to deliver a unique, rich listening experience, and it does with ease; EasyFuel capless fuel filler is exclusive to Ford and saves time by replacing a fuel-filler cap and provides a better seal, reducing the release of smog-forming vapors; when you order 2nd. row captains chairs instead of the 2nd row bench seat you can option for Ford’s class-exclusive refrigerated console that mounts between 2nd row captain’s chairs and is a compressor-driven refrigerator that can cool up to seven 12oz. can, four half-liter bottles, or two 20oz. bottles, from room temperature to 41 degrees in a little more than two-and-a-half hours-40% faster than a standard home refrigerator; new ambient lighting is available in seven colors to fit your mood and can change the lighting on two LEDs mounted on the front console, footwells and around the two front cupholders; an optional reverse camera system displays the area behind the Flex on the navigation screen when the Flex is shifted into reverse; the power liftgate makes loading and unloading easier and safer.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdrearseats01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdrearseats01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdrearseats01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdrearseats01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Standard equipment found inside the Flex Limited, not mentioned above, includes HID headlights, dual rear exhaust tips, fog lamps, leather trimmed front heated seats with 10-way power driver-seat and 6-way powered front-passenger seat, leather/wood trimmed steering wheel with cruise and audio control buttons, two-driver memory for seat and side mirrors, adjustable foot pedals with memory, dual-zone climate control, thick pile carpeting with front, 2nd. row and rear floor mats, cargo net, 2nd row split 60/40 fold flat, 3rd. row split 50/50 fold flat, four-12-volt power plugs/one 110-volt plug, intermittent wipers/washers/rear wiper/washer, power windows/door locks with driver-side express up/down, dual map lamps, sun-glass storage above, self-dimming rearview mirror and power-remote/heated side mirrors.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdengine01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdengine01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdengine01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdengine01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Flex is powered by Ford’s award-winning 3.5 liter V6 engine that generates a healthy 262hp at 6,250rpm and 248lb.ft. of torque at 4,500rpm. This high-output engine is mated to a fuel-efficient, advanced 6-speed automatic transmission that uses a wide 6.04:1 gear ratio to deliver good fuel economy and performance. EPA specs are better than expected 24mpg/highway and 18mpg/city. You can do even better by closely monitoring your tires pressure, and the way you drive.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdcluster01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The all-new Flex’s ride and drive is very comfortable and impressive. Coming with a standard front-wheel-drive setup, you can also option for Flex’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system that is tuned to provide confident driving all in weather conditions.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrearlowangle01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrearlowangle01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrearlowangle01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdbeautyrearlowangle01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>By constantly monitoring and predicting traction, the system can deliver torque to all four wheels even before the wheels begin to slip. An active, on-demand electronic center coupler can allocate precise amounts of torque from front to rear-up to 100% to either axle. Paired with standard Advance Trac with RSC (roll stability control), intelligent AWD can transfer torque front to rear and side to side.</p>
<p>Giving you a comfortable and precisely controlled ride is Ford fully independent suspension system. This is virtually no noise, vibration or harshness, (NVH), during your ride because the front and rear suspensions are attached to subframes that inhibit any NVH from entering the cabin. Up front is a gas-pressurized MacPherson strut setup with rear-facing L-shaped lower control arms with hydro-bushings, coil springs, and a 32mm stabilizer bar. The rear features a multi-link setup with upper and lower control arms, coil springs, gas-charged shocks and a 22mm stabilizer bar.</p>
<p>The power-assisted rack &amp; pinion steering system gives good feedback from the road and has good weight during turns, whether at slow or high speeds. The front and rear stabilizer bars work together to keep the Flex flat while cornering. Standard traction control and stability control helps to keep you on your chosen path during hard cornering.</p>
<p>Bringing the Flex to a short and safe stop are large, power-assisted steel disc brakes.<br />
Up front are 12.2in vented disc brakes clamped with dual-piston calipers, and 11.9in. solid discs clamped with single-piston calipers, in the rear. Braking control is enhanced with standard ABS.</p>
<p>The Flex SE and SEL come with 18X8in. wheels and all-season radial tires while the Limited comes standard with 19X9in. polished aluminum wheels, or optional 20X9in. painted aluminum wheels, wrapped with all-season radial tires.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargothree01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargothree01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargothree01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargothree01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Standard safety features include driver/front-passenger airbags, side airbags, 3-point safety belts for all seats, front/rear crush zones, steel beams in each door, safety canopy over the first and second row, LATCH child seat anchors, and securlock passive anti-theft system.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargotwo01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargotwo01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargotwo01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdrearcargotwo01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The all-new 2009 Ford Flex has to be driven to really appreciate its finer points. Just judging by the outside styling of the Flex isn’t fair to the vehicle or to the consumer.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordflexlimitedawdbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1759]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/2009fordflexlimitedawdbadge01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordflexlimitedawdbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The more you dislike it the more you come to appreciate it. It’s not for everyone, but is there enough consumers out there in need of another large flexible and versatile vehicle? Only time will tell but the Flex has got a lot going for it.</p>
<p>This might be the new direction in people and cargo hauling vehicles.</p>

<p><strong>2009 Ford Mustang GT Coupe &#8211; &#8220;America&#8217;s Favorite Pony Car&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>The Ford Mustang coupe continues as America’s favorite Pony car and celebrates 45-years in production. The latest GT performance coupe is fun and thrilling to drive, comes well equipped and is priced right at just $27,020.00. It is the ‘biggest bang for the buck’.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtheadonactionright01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtheadonactionright01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtheadonactionright01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtheadonactionright01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The Mustang GT is sporty and spry from any angle: a menacing shark-like nose with trapezoidal jeweled headlamps behind clear lens imparts an attitude not seen since the ’67 model, the signature aluminum power-dome hood and short rear deck, dual exhaust tips, swept-back A-pillars, side C-scoops, flared fenders, lower rocker panels, while short overhangs and 18X8in. wheels, anchor the design to the ground and give it visual motion. The rear spoiler helps increase downforce at high speeds.</p>
<p><span id="more-1661"></span></p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtengine01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtengine01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtengine01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtengine01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The retro-modern looks give an indication of what lies under the skin and ready to unleash all of its power and performance. A bulging aluminum hood covers the GT’s 4.6 liter, all-aluminum, SOHC, 3-valve per cylinder, variable camshaft timing, V8 engine that cranks out an abundant 300hp at 5,750rpm and 320lb.ft. of torque at 4,500rpm.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtengine01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtengine01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"></a> <a title="2009fordmustanggtstickshift01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtstickshift01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtstickshift01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtstickshift01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a></p>
<p>Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a standard Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with the 5-speed manual 3:55 gears, a limited-slip differential and shod with the optional 18X8in. aluminum wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich 235/50ZR18in. g-Force T/A’s, the GT can blast out to 60mph from a standstill in just 5.3sec. Faster than any $27,000.00 sport coupe.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtheadonactionpin01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtheadonactionpin01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtheadonactionpin01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtheadonactionpin01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Under the stiff, unitized steel frame and chassis is Mustang’s unique suspension system.<br />
Up front is an independent setup with reverse-L links, MacPherson struts and a 34mm tubular stabilizer bar. The unique rear features a 3-link solid axle with coil springs, gas-charged monoshocks, Panhard rod and 20mm solid stabilizer bar. Utilizing the precision of the power-assisted rack &amp; pinion steering system enables the Mustang GT to quickly go where you point it to go. Turn-in is quick and sharp, while the rear setup keeps the wheels solidly planted on the ground when exiting sharp curves at high speed. There is virtually no roll during high-speed cornering. Behind the wheel is similar to being on a roller-coaster, you feel as if you are riding on rails all of the time. The standard traction control system helps to keep the drive-wheels turning, enhancing your control during spirited driving.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtrearaction01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtrearaction01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtrearaction01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtrearaction01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Quickly and safely slowing the Mustang GT down from speed are the larges brakes ever in a GT. Up front are 12.4in. vented discs clamped down with 43mm, floating dual-piston aluminum calipers. The 11.8in. vented rear discs are clamped with single-piston 43mm floating iron calipers. Standard ABS lets to keep the brakes from locking up when applying the brakes hard on slick road surfaces.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtbucketseat01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtbucketseat01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtbucketseat01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtbucketseat01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>It is a real thrill ride while cornering as you can easily let the rear slide out when you increase speed on exits, and so rock solid during high-speed straight-line driving.<br />
The interior only increases the fun and enjoyment of owning a new Mustang GT.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtpanlefttwo01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtpanlefttwo01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtpanlefttwo01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtpanlefttwo01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The frameless front doors open wide for easy entry and exit. The ribbed, high-back bucket seats are comfortable and supportive. The aluminum-topped shifter is set in the right place and fun to use. Aluminum-faced foot pedals with rubber inserts help during fast footwork.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtdashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtdashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtdashboard01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtdashboard01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>The sporty, leather-wrapped, tilting, 3-spoke steering wheel feels great in your hands, but I would like to see a telescopic feature to give the best possible reach and angle for even better steering-wheel control. The T-shaped instrument panel features new charcoal aluminum trim plates to give it a darker look, while the four, chrome-ring air-vents aligned vertically across the dash, precisely in line with the big chrome-ringed instrument cluster gauges. The dashboard eye-lash is now covered with hand-cut and sewn leather giving the interior a new elegant feel. The steering wheel has 3-spokes with the center hub marked by the horse and tricolor bars logo, echoing the design of the ’67 Mustang. The center console features dual-cup-holder and a deep storage bin with a soft top to rest your elbow.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtcluster01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtcluster01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Also inside is Mustang’s industry-first ‘MyColor’ color-configurable instrument cluster offering the ultimate in personalization. Mustang owners can mix and match more than 125 color backgrounds to suit your mood, personality, etc. Ford also lets owners color outside the lines with an optional interior ambient light package. This unique feature offers the option of illuminating the front and rear footwells and front cup-holders with anyone of seven colors-red, orange, blue, indigo, violet, green and yellow.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtfrontseats01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtfrontseats01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Standard equipment include an auxiliary audio input jack, Mustang signature door entry sill plates, one-touch power down/up windows, power mirrors, keyless entry, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, 60/40 split-rear bench seat, power locks, heated rear window, interval wipers/washers, A/C, cruise-control, dual map lamps, dual vanity mirrors, self-dimming rearview mirror, Shaker 500 audio system with AM-FM-6X CD player, MP3 and 6-speakers.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtreargtbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtreargtbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtreargtbadge01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtreargtbadge01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>Options include Shaker 1000 audio system with 10in. subwoofer, active anti-theft alarm, heated seats, 3.55 ratio limited slip differential, SIRIUS satellite radio, and DVD based navigation system.</p>
<p>Standard safety features include front/rear crumple zones, steel beams in each door, driver/front passenger airbags, driver/front passenger side airbags, and front/rear 3-point safety belts with load limiters and pretensioners up front.</p>
<p><a title="2009fordmustanggtponybadgetwo01fixedsmall.jpg" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtponybadgetwo01fixedsmall.jpg" rel="lightbox[1661]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/2009fordmustanggtponybadgetwo01fixedsmall.thumbnail.jpg" alt="2009fordmustanggtponybadgetwo01fixedsmall.jpg" /></a> </p>
<p>For the past 22 straight years, the Ford Mustang has been America’s number one selling sporty coupe and with this latest high-performing Mustang GT, the streak should continue for a long time as the Ford Mustang GT is the least expensive way to truly enjoy the fun and excitement that only a sports car can give to its owner.</p>

<p>Rag Top, Topless, Drop Top, Convertible, Sun Fun, Hardtop, Soft-top and more. Okay folks, we are not talking about women outfits here, we are talking about the top 10 convertibles for this summer.</p>
<p>The automotive industry has come back with a vengeance developing and marking some of the best convertible cars yet. When a new panoramic sunroof just does not do it for you need to go completely topless then you may want to take a look at one of the top 10 Topless Cars for this summer.</p>
<p><strong>#10</strong></p>
<p><strong>Mini Cooper<br />
Price: $21,950</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/mini-cooper-convertible.jpg" title="mini-cooper-convertible.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/mini-cooper-convertible.thumbnail.jpg" alt="mini-cooper-convertible.jpg" /></a> </strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>The Mini Cooper has made its mark as a favorite “little” car and recently a favorite due to the high gas prices. This soft top convertible has the same attractive cues as does the regular coupe. Also available is a version with a retractable soft-top that glides back for a panoramic vista roof view.</p>
<p><strong>#9 and #8</strong></p>
<p><strong>Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky<br />
Price: $22,165 and $25,525</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/pontiac-solstice-gxp.jpg" title="pontiac-solstice-gxp.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/pontiac-solstice-gxp.thumbnail.jpg" alt="pontiac-solstice-gxp.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>You can consider both the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky the little sisters or brothers of the Chevy Corvette, a convertible version of course. The new power plants may consider these little roadsters “pocket rockets” with a new 260hp turbocharged 2.0 liter. With that version it may set you back about 30 grand. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/magazine/2007saturnskytestdrive.html">Saturn Sky Test Drive.</a></p>
<p><strong>#7 </strong></p>
<p><strong>Ford Mustang<br />
Price: $24,475</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/ford-mustang-convertible.jpg" title="ford-mustang-convertible.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/ford-mustang-convertible.thumbnail.jpg" alt="ford-mustang-convertible.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>We have seen it, loved it, and now we still enjoy the infamous <a target="_blank" href="http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/magazine/fordmustangv6convertible.html" title="Ford Mustang Convertible Test Drive">Ford Mustang with a soft drop top</a>. When we say fun in the sun, this is it. Still one of the most affordable sports coupes you can buy on the market. As always, you can let your hair blow in the wind and still have some cash in your pocket for some expensive gas.</p>
<p><span id="more-1203"></span></p>
<p><strong>#6</strong></p>
<p><strong>Chrysler Sebring<br />
Price: $26,160</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/chrysler-sebring-convertible.jpg" title="chrysler-sebring-convertible.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/chrysler-sebring-convertible.thumbnail.jpg" alt="chrysler-sebring-convertible.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>This has got to be one of the most driven convertibles by tourists, business execs and those who want an inexpensive alternative to drive around in the sun. Rental car companies are not shy about offering a convertible and the Chrysler Sebring is usually THE choice. Recently added to the line-up is a hardtop convertible so you do not have to worry about a Mickey Mouse stalker cutting open your top to steal your iPod. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/2008-chrysler-sebring-convertible-test-drive" title="Chrysler Sebring Convertible">Chrysler Sebring Convertible Test Drive.</a></p>
<p><strong>#5</strong></p>
<p><strong>Honda S2000<br />
Price: $34,300</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/honda-s2000.jpg" title="honda-s2000.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/honda-s2000.thumbnail.jpg" alt="honda-s2000.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>The Honda S2000 is pretty much self explanatory by now. If you do not know about the Honda S2000 then you have been out-of touch from the automotive industry for a LONG TIME. This one is MONEY, quality in a pocket rocket with solid performance out of a 4-banger. If you live revving beyond the limit while enjoying the outside environment then this is the car for you.</p>

<p><strong>Chevrolet Corvette<br />
Price: $54,575</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/chevrolet-corvette-convertible.jpg" title="chevrolet-corvette-convertible.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/chevrolet-corvette-convertible.thumbnail.jpg" alt="chevrolet-corvette-convertible.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Do you want some power pushing you around while the wind wisps past your face? No we don’t mean getting punched in the face, we mean the Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. Probably the fastest convertible you can buy for the money. 0-60 in 4.0 seconds, 430hp, over 25mpg, rear wheel drive all with a drop top… can’t beat that! <a target="_blank" href="http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/magazine/2006chevroletcorvetteconvertibletestdrive.html" title="Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Test Drive">Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Test Drive.</a></p>

<p><strong>Porsche Boxter S<br />
Price: $55,700</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/porsche-boxter.jpg" title="porsche-boxter.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/porsche-boxter.thumbnail.jpg" alt="porsche-boxter.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>The Porsche Boxter has grown up in the recent years and blossomed into a major alternative to those seeking a German engineered toy in a semi-practical package. With 295hp you would expect this convertible to drink gas faster than it makes heads turn when you drive past a group of on-lookers. Just like the Corvette, this drop top gets 26mpg and it is truly all Porsche for a lot less than it’s bigger brother, the 911.</p>

<p><strong>Jaguar XKR<br />
Price: $92,035</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/jaquar-xk.jpg" title="jaquar-xk.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/jaquar-xk.thumbnail.jpg" alt="jaquar-xk.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/magazine/2007jaguarxkconvertibletestdrive.html" title="Jaguar XK Convertible Test Drive">We tested sex on wheels some time ago</a> and found it to be just that, sex on wheels that can stay topless all day long and keep the heads turning. This cat purrs through it’s 300hp engine pushing near 4000lbs. around on the long cat legs that provide a subtle and smooth ride. Don’t let the soft fur of this cat fool you, it can play around with the best of the big dogs all while not being shameful of going topless.</p>

<p><strong>Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG<br />
Price: $132,000</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/mercedes-benz-sl63-amg.jpg" title="mercedes-benz-sl63-amg.jpg" rel="lightbox[1203]"><img src="http://www.blog.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/mercedes-benz-sl63-amg.thumbnail.jpg" alt="mercedes-benz-sl63-amg.jpg" /></a></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>This one is a no-brainer if you want to choose a “nice” convertible to introduce the homecoming king and queen to a stadium full of alumni, just don’t press the gas pedal to hard. If do you do get this baby out on an open road with seatbelts securely in place, it wont disappoint at all. It touts 604hp through a turbocharged V12 engine matted to a 7-speed multi-clutch automatic tranny. If that is not enough to keep you satisfied then the hard top will allow you and your single passenger to both go topless and still make it in time for kickoff at the big game.</p>

<p>Many of you have seen the recent Ford commercials where they boast that Ford’s quality is just as good as Toyotas. Well, I have two questions. Is Fords quality just as good as Toyotas and is Toyota a benchmark setter in the world of “quality” of an automobile? You cannot deny the fact that Toyota has set a high mark for quality especially with their Lexus brand which comes in near the top of the list of J.D. Power Associates Initial Quality Survey each year. So who really said that Ford was on par with Toyota’s quality? It was actually a 3rd party that is not associated with J.D. Power &amp; Associates that performed a so-called initial quality survey.</p>
<p>Toyota is not too happy with the claims that are plastered all over homes of America in one of Ford’s newest commercials. Even though Toyota has a justified right to defend their claim but as other automakers focus in and catch up to Toyota in the Initial Quality Survey Toyota does not feel this survey should be labeled as significant.</p>
<p>So is Ford REALLY on par with Toyota. We don’t want to bash either of the automakers, they both have excellent vehicles in all competitive automotive markets. We think only time will tell if Ford is all that and a bag of chips. Toyota has an excellent history when it comes to quality and it may take some time for others to prove that type of status. Will your Ford F-150 last longer than Jim’s Toyota Tundra? You may have to wait this one out.</p>
