Honda NSX Test Car for Acura NSX

The latest image from the testing of the new Acura NSX aka Honda NSX. It seems to be some sort of long wheelbase version of the S2000. But be assured that the underpinnings are all pure NSeX. More Automotive Porn to come as we gather info on the new upcoming Acura NSX.

Saturn advertising that it invites shoppers to test drive the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord at its dealerships against the new Aura sedan.

Malcolm’s 2 cent: Saturn better have there ducks in a row as a lot of people seem to believe the quality of the Saturn does not even come close to that of the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord.  We shall see what happens.

No more Honda Accord Hybrid

Honda Accord Hybrid

Honda dropping Accord Hybrid – No more Honda Accord Hybrid

The new Honda Accord that will go on sale in September 2007 will not be available in a hybrid version this go around. Honda has other plans to join in on introducing smaller hybrids such as the Honda Civic Hybrid and smaller variant. “We have found that our hybrid system works better on smaller cars,” said Chris Naughton, a Honda spokesman. Honda previously said they would introduce a new Hybrid vehicle to the line-up… look for this to be something smaller than a Honda Civic.

Honda currently has the Honda Accord Hybrid which uses a V6 engine paired with the electric motor producing a much higher power output than the Toyota Camry Hybrid. But with that said the Honda Accord Hybrid accounts for only 1.4% of total Honda Accord sales while the Toyota Camry, using a 4-cyl engine paired with the electric motor accounted for 14% of the total Camry sales. The Toyota Camry and Honda Accord are the best selling passenger cars in the

United States.

“We have seen that what interests hybrid consumers is ultimate fuel economy,” Naughton said.

Honda has previously said it will introduce a new 4-cylinder diesel engine in the

United States by 2009. Diesel engines get considerably better fuel economy than gasoline engines without the technical complexity of gasoline-electric hybrid systems.

With cleaner diesel fuel available here, allowing engines to meet strict emissions requirements, diesel cars will become more widely available in this country in coming years.

Honda has not said whether the Accord would get the diesel engine. The European version of the Accord – a car sold in the

United States as the Acura TSX – is available in

Europe with a diesel engine.

Honda Fuel-Cell and Hybrid Cars on the Way

Honda FCX Hydrogen Car

So who will be the 1st to bring in the consumer ready hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to the

U.S.? Well, Honda has that in the plan book. They plan on being one of the first if not the first to introduce the Hydrogen fuel cell vehicle to the

US
public consumer… that would be me and you! Honda already has the current FCX fuel-cell car and others in the making. They will be leased to real consumers probably in

California
and Washing D.C. where they have accessible hydrogen pumps.

Honda will also be producing a type of home fueling station that will use natural gas to produce hydrogen fuel for the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles while providing extra electricity for the home at the same time. Hydrogen fuel-cell cars have zero emissions, and the next generation FCX is said to have a range of 270 miles on a full tank, with an equivalent of 68 mpg when compared to gas. Honda claims it will hit 100 mph while others have managed to get it up to 75 mph with no problem in tests. Over-all performance is not much different from most low powered four cylinder engines.

So will Honda beat everyone to the mainstream in introducing the first hydrogen car just like

Toyota brought us the first hybrid vehicle? Time will tell. I am sure you can surly check back here at AutomotiveAddicts.com for live updates over the next couple years!
