Some time ago we wrote an article about the new 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 being compared to that of a Lexus, BMW or even a Benz. Now with the introduction of a new Hyundai Genesis Coupe we are going to have to compare it to other sports luxury coupes because it is no doubt that the new Genesis is the new beginning of the beginning in the Book of Hyundai, Genesis that is!

2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 does it big just like The Big Dogs do!

So you take a gander at the new Lexus LS460 or the new BMW 7-Series, very nice you probably say to yourself. Now, you see some other car rolling down the road and you say hmm, another Lexus LS or GS, no, a Benz, no, a new BMW 7-Series, hmm no I do not see the BMW roundel on the hood WTF! Is this a Honda accord? No No, it is the new Hyundai Genesis 4.6 not to be mistaken for the many cars that make up the looks of the new big-body Hyundai.

Hyundai has pulled this one out of someone’s ass who may have worked at BMW or Daimler Chrysler, or heck, even Toyota’s Lexus division. Either way you put it, Hyundai has upped the ante. Recently Hyundai has proven itself with good build quality, cars that are lasting, and the love for one of the better warranties offered on cars sold in America. You see design cues from other various luxury cars but does it really live up to any of them? Why yes it does, and some when you consider the money you will save by driving one of these home. Do you want iDrive? How about a long wheelbase? Wood trim to go? You get it all!

Top 10 New Features of 2007

Source: cars.com

Although flying cars aren’t yet a reality, automakers are continually developing new technologies to make our cars safer and more futuristic. Here are some of our favorite automotive features from 2007 that edge us ever-closer to a car George Jetson would be proud of. Features from a number of cars made our list, but the 2008 Infiniti EX35 received the most mentions, including the top spot with our favorite new feature, Lane Departure Prevention.

Best New Feature: Lane Departure Prevention

Where you can find it: Infiniti EX35

Infiniti’s Lane Departure Prevention builds on conventional lane-departure warning systems, which detect lane markings and sound a chime if you drift astray. LDP goes one step further by gently applying the brakes to certain wheels to nudge you back on course. Sound too intrusive? We tried it out in the EX35 and it keeps a remarkably low profile. Hit the turn signal or steer the wheel slightly, and the system deactivates. On straight roads, it intervenes with just a hint of deceleration, and the dashboard chime alerts you of its actions. For its effectiveness and low profile, LDP is the winner.

Scratch Shield Paint

Where you can find it: Infiniti EX35

The crusade for city-friendly transportation began years ago with plastic bumpers and dent-resistant doors. It reaches new heights with Infiniti’s Scratch Shield paint. On the EX35, Scratch Shield combines a highly elastic resin with the clearcoat finish. The resulting surface is said to maintain a glossy appearance over the years, and it can actually undo minor damage in the course of a few days. While Scratch Shield won’t repair dents or gashes, Infiniti says it can restore things like fingernail scratches under the door handles. We haven’t had a chance to see it in action, but we’re intrigued by the prospects.
