Sneak Preview: Nissan 370Z Video Test Drive

Nissan allowed Motor Trend to take the new upcoming Nissan 370Z out on the road and do a little review. They could not let you view the inside but they allowed them to showcase the car still in tape wraps. Looks like it has a few cues from the new Nissan Maxima and Nissan GT-R-esc designs. We noticed the roofline is very similar to the GT-R while the headlamps may be similar to the new Maxima headlamp clusters. Due to the transmission whoas of the new GT-R this may be a nice alternative to those who want a fast Nissan sports car. Although this will not be super-car status like the GT-R but it is suppose to be faster than the outgoing 350Z model. November 17th should mark the date for the new official stats and unveiling of the new Nissan Z car (370Z).

Epic Fail: Nissan GT-R Transmission Failure Not Covered Under Warranty

So your buddy purchased a new Nissan GT-R and thought he would launch the S*#@! out of it several times just because HE CAN. Now, the transmission has failed after the many unplanned NASA launches and Nissan tells your buddy, “ahh, we are not fixing this under warranty, pay us over $20 grand and we will think about it”. So, the question is… why do you get punished for utilizing an actual feature on a vehicle? It just so happens that you have to void the warranty of a vehicle to accomplish the manufacturer’s performance numbers.

Never before has there been so much hype over who has the fastest lap time around the Nurburgring. So I sat down and really thought what sparked all of this hype. Was it the Nissan GT-R’s stunning lap time that everyone is ever-so-fast chasing? Is it because more auto manufacturers are starting to conduct post-production tests of their new vehicles on the Nurburgring? Is it because the Nurburgring is such a vigorous test track and true representation of pushing a vehicle to it’s limits? I honestly believe it is a combination of all of these factors put together.

How would you like to be first in line in the USA to pick up your new Nissan GT-R? Well, here is the lucky SOB in the video below. The very first GT-R was sold in the US to a Southern California customer. I am sure by the looks on his face he just wants to hop in and take his new GT-R for a drive to break it in. Daryl Alison of Costa Mesa, CA is the new proud owner of this new Black Obsidian Nissan GT-R. Oh, do you think the helmet was something that they recommended he wear for the duration of ownership of the Nissan GT-R… is it just that fast or what?

Enjoy!

nissan-maxima-09.jpg

The new Nissan Maxima is Nissan’s MAXimum 4-door car that use to be dubbed the 4-door sports car. Many claim that the term “4-door sports car” has willfully returned to the new 2009 Nissan Maxima. The new Maxima is undoubtedly sexy but is it really sporty enough to be called a 4-door sports car that many knew of in the 1990’s.

Okay, so you may be confused by the title of this blog post. Don’t worry, I will explain.

It seems that Dodge has started to implement a few enhancements if you will, on the new 2009 Dodge Challenger that are similar to the Nissan GT-R’s plethora of digital car behavior-read-outs. Dodge did not have the developers of Gran Turismo 5 involved in the development of the boy-toys that are now available for the 2009 Dodge Challenger.

Many car enthusiasts know about the new Nissan GT-R and what the center console LCD screen displays. Dodge has gone and used this idea and put it on the lower portion of the Challengers gauges. Whoa, looks rather cheesy if you ask me. You be the judge… we have included a video clip from youtube where Dodge is starting to promote the new features on the 2009 Dodge Challenger which Dodge calls it the “stat-keeping Performance Pages Display”.
