Jay Leno showcases his newest edition of his plethora of vehicles in his very own, Jay Leno Garage. Jay describes the new Nissan GT-R as “The first true Japanese supercar”. Jay goes on to describe the vehicle as being “truly hard core” and much more than the Nissan 350Z. Nissan’s product planner, John Weiner, describes the key features of the GT-R and what makes it a true supercar… from Japan of course.

Chasing the Japanese: 2009 Dodge Challenger is Chasing the Nissan GT-R with new tech?
Okay, so you may be confused by the title of this blog post. Don’t worry, I will explain.
It seems that Dodge has started to implement a few enhancements if you will, on the new 2009 Dodge Challenger that are similar to the Nissan GT-R’s plethora of digital car behavior-read-outs. Dodge did not have the developers of Gran Turismo 5 involved in the development of the boy-toys that are now available for the 2009 Dodge Challenger.
Many car enthusiasts know about the new Nissan GT-R and what the center console LCD screen displays. Dodge has gone and used this idea and put it on the lower portion of the Challengers gauges. Whoa, looks rather cheesy if you ask me. You be the judge… we have included a video clip from youtube where Dodge is starting to promote the new features on the 2009 Dodge Challenger which Dodge calls it the “stat-keeping Performance Pages Display”.

The buzz began last summer: Nissan would be producing a new GT-R supercar, the fifth generation of the performance legend, for the 2009 model year.
As summer faded into fall, more details were made public. The 2009 GT-R would have, under its hood, a newly designed 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 engine that would provide 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque (give or take) and feature an equally fresh GR6-type dual clutch rear transaxle with paddle-shifters.
Garage419 – Debate The Nissan GTR, BMW 135i (Tii) and Max Mosley

The guys at Garage419 have surly made a name for themselves.
One of the guys at The Automotive Addicts Blog ran across the Garage419.com website and was very impressed with some of the episodes and the banter of “educated car talk” that was happening at Garage 419. So here is a clip of one of their episodes done just recently about some pretty hot topics in the automotive world.
Do you agree or disagree? Hmm, they have some valid points about the new Nissan GT-R and we would have to agree with most of what they have to say. On another note, would you buy a pimped out BMW 1-series that was pimped out by BMW in a Tii version with a higher price?
Garage 419 has it all covered in this excellent episode of Debating The Nissan GTR, BMW 135i and Max Mosley.

Nissan GT-R R35 is Wicked FAST! Nissan GT-R does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds

Update: Motor Trend does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds in the new Nissan GT-R R35!!!
Video Update:
Okay, so you’re wondering why our title states the obvious and then states a bogus 0-60 time? Well, the 0-60 time is NOT bogus, that’s right; the New GT-R can do 0-60 in just over 3.3 seconds… we have the proof in the pudding! The launch control on this bad boy is doing to really hurt someone’s feelings if they try to tango with this beast. Slowing this thing down is another challenge that Nissan has obviously overcome. The GT-R brakes from 60-0 in an stunning 104 feet. That is only one foot more than the Porsche 911 with ceramic brakes. Better hold onto your eye balls, they might fall out of the socket.
Technology is pushing the envelope once again and you will be hard pressed to find ANY OTHER brand new production car to beat the Nissan GT-R’s stats. I think it is safe to label the new Nissan GT-R “King of the Hill”. It may be a while before any other car knocks this one down.
Here is our pudding (sorry if we offend the haters, it is what it is)
Now here is an added bonus… an older video but a good one… the New Nissan GT-R beating-up on the Porsche 911 Turbo (997).

Pushing its electric vehicle strategy, Nissan will unveil an electric car concept at the New York auto show. Beyond a one-off concept, this concept is the harbinger of Nissan’s plans to push automotive technology forward with electric vehicles. Milestones of this strategy include the introduction of a new electric vehicle, based on the concept, to U.S. fleets in 2010. After this fleet testing period, the new electric vehicle will be sold to retail customers starting in 2012. Nissan has been testing a lithium ion electric powertrain in the Nissan Cube, a model soon to be offered in the U.S. Nissan executives, talking to Automotive News reporters, wouldn’t say what the concept will look like, beyond saying that it will be a compact. But they said it has an estimated range of 100 miles and a top speed of 75 mph.
