this is sad, i was going to buy one of these over an e60 m5 soon but after reading about all the problems with this car it has forever put a bad taste in my mouth, ive owned mostly american cars and dealing with them at the dealer on warranty issues is exhausting and i dont plan on doing it with an $85 car. nissan should make this right, i dont evan know what else to say…

And people wonder, why this “Porsche Turbo Killer” is significantly cheaper…Quality is the key…You can use the launch control on a porsche (or any other car for that fact) and the transmission will not fail, the warrenty will not be void….unlike this…

Well well well. What an eye opener. Launch control breaks the transmission.

It’s to be sorted out in software. Current LC is just that little bit too aggressive, it would seem. I would prefer LC to be dropped all together. I will pitty someone who ends up with a GTR that has been launched for NASA. A bit like the drunk girl on holiday in Spain. Pitty the guy who ends up marrying her when she has cleaned up her act. Not for me. Back to the drawing board. Bugger!

I so think Nissan needs to fire who ever thought of the GTR 35 and go back to the GTR 34 so what it wasn’t the best car with the car alarm and stuff but at least the motor and Transmission can take a beating from all these things that apparently the 35 can’t do. sorry I’m just pissed that they would spend so much money on a car that was probably going to be crap anyways when all they had to do was fix some thing on the 34 or add something new and the Skyline 34 kinda looked cool.

This is not so. Porsche PDK is designed to be launched every 2.5kms. In the event that you can actually get the transmission to “overheat” through “abuse” there are 4 failsafe modes before the vehicle will ever allow a problem to happen. In fact, Porsche hired one of the driving instructors from the Porsche driving experience to go to Leipzig for the sole purpose of seeing what would be required to break the transmission. He failed. He was unable to break it. Porsche has had ZERO failures with their PDK. Nissan GTR, bah I say. Who cares if it is a cheaper “supercar”. Obviously you get what you pay for. It is a hideous car. The GTR34 was beautiful, it was awesome. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but come on…GTR35 or 911 TT, are you kidding me??? On tope of that, let’s talk value in a year, or ten years. Which one is going to be worth something? All automakers bow down, Porsche is in the house. They may not have invented the car, but will anyone ever be able to achive what they have done? No. Will there be another Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Michael Schumacker? No. Some things come only once in a lifetime. The greatest automaker in history is here and will never be topped. Porsche, there is no substitute.
